The Fugitive 4K Release Date Set as Movie Celebrates 30th Anniversary


Warner Bros. Discovery announced on Wednesday that as part of its ongoing celebration of the 100th anniversary of Warner Bros. Studio, the 1993 action thriller The Fugitive is getting a 4K release.

When does The Fugitive release on 4K?

The Fugitive 4K release date has been set for November 21, 2023, when the film will arrive on 4K Ultra HD disc and digital. The film will be available to purchase both online and in-store at major retailers, and will also be made available to purchase digitally from Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, Vudu, and more.

Special features set to be included on The Fugitive Ultra HD Blu-ray disc include:

Originally released in 1993, The Fugitive is based on the 1960s television series of the same name created by Roy Huggins. The film is directed by Andrew Davis, and stars Harrison Ford, Tommy Lee Jones, Sela Ward, Joe Pantoliano, Andreas Katsulas, and Jeroen Krabbé, among others. The film tells the story of Dr. Richard Kimble (Ford), a man who is framed for the murder of his wife and sentenced to death, and then escapes custody while setting out to find out what really happened.

The Fugitive was both a critical and commercial success, earning rave reviews and finishing out the box office as the third-highest-grossing film of 1993 domestically. The film was also nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, with Jones having won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role.
