WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H dropped a major hint about the return of former Universal Champion Goldberg. The WWE Hall of Famer has been a free agent for the past few years. He was recently spotted at WWE Bad Blood 2024.
Goldberg last competed in WWE in 2022 against Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia, where he lost the WWE Universal Title. After the match, his contract with WWE expired, making him a free agent.
This past weekend in Atlanta, Georgia, Goldberg attended WWE Bad Blood 2024 as he appeared at ringside with his family. During the show, Triple H announced a new annual event at WWE Crown Jewel. The event will see champions from the men’s and women’s divisions of RAW and SmackDown competing against each other. The winner would be crowned the Crown Jewel Champion.
The current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther made his way into the ring. He expressed his intention to win the Crown Jewel Championship but redirected his attention to Goldberg at ringside. The Ring General took jabs at Goldberg, which prompted him to jump the barricade for a confrontation, but security quickly held him back.
As this segment concluded, fans began speculating about a potential match between Goldberg and Gunther. Triple H further fueled these rumors by sending a message to the WWE Hall of Famer.
Triple H’s message to Goldberg: ‘We’ll talk more very soon’
The Game recently sent a message to Goldberg on X, formerly known as Twitter. This ignited speculation about whether the Chief Content Officer hinted at Goldberg’s potential in-ring return. The Game shared a video from backstage at WWE Bad Blood 2024, where he talks about Goldberg. He wrote, “Thanks for coming to #WWEBadBlood @Goldberg. We’ll talk more very soon…”
It will be exciting to see the face-off between Gunther and Goldberg. After retaining his title against Sami Zayn on RAW, Gunther is set to face Cody Rhodes. Now, he aims for the inaugural Crown Jewel Championship match at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on November 2nd.
