A new trailer for Woman of the Hour has been released for the new Netflix thriller movie that is directed by Anna Kendrick, who also stars in the film. It will be released on the streaming service this coming October.
“The stranger-than-fiction story of an aspiring actress in 1970s Los Angeles and a serial killer in the midst of a yearslong murder spree, whose lives intersect when they’re cast on an episode of The Dating Game,” the logline for the movie reads.

Who is in Woman of the Hour?
Kendrick is making her feature film directorial debut with Woman of the Hour. She’s known for playing Jessica Stanley in the Twilight films and Beca Mitchell in the Pitch Perfect franchise. She’s also starred in movies such as 2009’s Up in the Air, 2010’s Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, 2011’s 50/50, 2013’s Drinking Buddies, 2014’s The Last Five Years, 2016’s Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, 2018’s A Simple Favor, and 2019’s Noelle, among other titles. Additionally, Kendrick voices Poppy in DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls movies.
Along with Kendrick, Woman of the Hour stars Daniel Zovatto, Tony Hale, Nicolette Robinson, Pete Holmes, Autumn Best, Kathryn Gallagher, and Kelley Jakle.
The script was written by Ian McDonald. McDonald and Kendrick both serve as executive producers on the movie alongside Stuart Ford, Zach Garrett, Miguel A. Palos, Jr., Joe Penna, Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor, Paul Barbeau, Sean Patrick O’Reilly, Andrew Deane, and Stephen Crawford. Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, J.D. Lifshitz, and Raphael Margules serve as producers.
Having premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2024 (where it received positive reviews from critics), Woman of the Hour will now be released on Netflix on October 18, 2024.
