His latest theatrical venture, Red One, features a star-studded lineup and will release in the US later this week. Prior to its premiere, reports have come out that provide an insight into Johnson’s peculiar routines on the set. One rumor bizarrely suggested that the wrestler-turned-actor used to urinate in bottles during filming. But do these speculations hold any ounce of credibility?
Here’s everything you need to know regarding the peeing controversy surrounding The Rock.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson admits to peeing in bottles
News regarding Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s on-set antics first broke out in April 2024, following a report published by The Wrap. The accredited website provided a detailed account of how the actor’s quirky practices seemingly resulted in inflating the budget of the $250m action-comedy.
Among incidents pertaining to Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson being constantly late on the set, the said report also claimed that the Furious 7 star habitually urinates in bottles while filming movies. In a recent interview with GQ magazine, Johnson surprisingly corroborated this theory, stating, “Yeah, that happens,” according to The Guardian. Interestingly, he had previously confirmed his usage of bottles for the aforementioned purpose during workout sessions.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson also admitted to his habit of arriving late on set but denied being unpunctual by the reported margin of eight hours. “Yeah, that happens too. But not that amount, by the way. That was a bananas amount. That’s crazy. Ridiculous,” Johnson exclaimed. Red One director Jake Kasdan also supported his star, stating that while “he can be late sometimes,” The Rock has “never missed a day of work ever.”
Early previews of Red One have resulted in critics bashing the movie for its incoherence, among other negative aspects. The film is currently scheduled to hit theatres in the US on November 15, 2024.
