Pete Davidson Charged With Reckless Driving After Driving Into House

Pete Davidson has been charged with reckless driving. The charges come after an accident earlier this year, in which the comedian drove his car into a Beverly Hills home.

According to a new report from TMZ, Davidson was charged on Friday by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. He was hit with one count of reckless driving for the incident, which took place around three months ago. Davidson and girlfriend Chase Sui Wonders were involved in the crash, which took place on March 4, 2023 at around 8 pm PST.

It is unknown how Davidson lost control of the car. TMZ notes the vehicle jumped the curb and took out a fire hydrant before it hit the side of a house. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and no arrests were made.

The homeowner states his 16-year-old daughter was left “a bit traumatized” by the incident. However, he doesn’t have any ill will toward the actor.

In a statement to TMZ on the matter, the district attorney’s office said they take all allegations of reckless driving “seriously,” and hold people responsible for the incidents. Reckless driving charges can carry a sentence of up to 90 days in jail, a fine of $1,000, and points on your driver’s license.

“Luckily, no one was seriously injured as a result of this collision,” reads the statement. “We know that reckless driving can have devastating consequences. In 2022, traffic fatalities in Los Angeles have reached the highest levels seen in 20 years. This is an alarming trend that we cannot ignore. As a result, it’s crucial that we take all allegations of reckless driving seriously and hold those responsible accountable.”
