What is in the Star Trek: Section 31 trailer?
Perhaps the biggest news of Paramount’s panel on Star Trek was the release of a new trailer, showing off more of the upcoming movie. Star Trek: Section 31 is being directed and executive-produced by Olatunde Osunsanmi from a screenplay written by Craig Sweeny. The upcoming movie stars Michelle Yeoh, Omari Hardwick, Kacey Rohl, Sam Richardson, Sven Ruygrok, Robert Kazinsky, Humberly Gonzalez, and James Hiroyuki Liao.

New live-action comedy Star Trek Series in the works
Alongside the Section 31 trailer, the Star Trek Universe continued to grow, as it was announced that a new live-action series set in the world of Star Trek was in the works. The series comes from Justin Simien (Dear White People) and Tawny Newsome, the latter of whom stars on Star Trek: Lower Decks. Simien and Newsome will also be joined by Alex Kurtzman, with all three writing and executive producing the series.
The series is described as an action comedy that will center around Federation outsiders that work at a “gleaming resort planet,” according to a report from THR. The series will also focus on the day-to-day exploits of the group being broadcast out to the world, and will reportedly have similar tones to workplace comedies like The Office and Parks and Recreation.
