Emilia Clarke’s G’iah is a major character in the Marvel Disney+ series Secret Invasion. Though we’ve technically seen her in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before, let’s explore who this character is and why she’s taking part in the titular event.
Who is G’iah?
G’iah is a young Skrull who is Talos and Soren’s daughter. She appeared as a young child in 2019’s Captain Marvel, played by Auden L. Ophuls and Harriet L. Ophuls. She was present while Captain Marvel and her allies battled Yon-Rogg and his forces in Mar-Vell’s lab, then befriended a young Monica Rambeau, who would go on to become Photon in WandaVision and The Marvels.
In Secret Invasion, G’iah is now an adult. She’s considered a radical Skrull agent. While speaking with Vanity Fair, Clarke said that the character gives off “kind of punk feeling” and that she’s frustrated that “not a lot has happened” since Fury promised to help the Skrulls years ago.
In the first episode, G’iah was introduced as being part of antagonist Gravik’s Skrull group. Though she was dedicated to his cause, learning of her mother Soren’s death from Talos seems to have shaken her beliefs.
Who is Emilia Clarke?
