Why GH Fans Want Robert Adamson to Replace Chad Duell as Michael

General Hospital is all set to bid adieu to Chad Duell as Michael and fans are now wondering if Robert Adamson will take over the role. The rumors of his exit and a possible recast have been afloat for a while. Duell’s forthcoming departure has left viewers questioning if they will see someone else as Michael in the future.

Here’s everything we know about whether Robert Adamson will replace Chad Duell in General Hospital.

Will Robert Adamson replace Chad Duell as Michael Corinthos on General Hospital?

Based on the information available at the time of writing, it appears that Robert Adamson will not be replacing Chad Duell as Michael in General Hospital, as a producer has confirmed there are no plans to recast the character yet.

The show’s executive producer Frank Valentini recently announced that Chad Duell will no longer be a part of the popular soap opera. The announcement came via an X (formerly Twitter) post on November 24, 2024. Valentini penned a farewell message for Duell which reads, “I have loved working with Chad over the years and wish him nothing but the best. He is a terrific actor and will be missed by everyone at #GH.”

Duell too confirmed his exit, saying, “This wasn’t an easy decision for me, but it feels like the right time in my life.” (via Just Jared)

In the light of his departure, fans are now wondering if Robert Adamson will take his place. Duell has been absent from the show for long durations several times over the years. His character Michael Corinthos was even briefly recasted previously where Robert Adamson took his place. This has now sparked speculations among fans who believe that Adamson might now come onboard GH permanently as Michael.

However, producer Valentini has stated that he has no plans of recasting Michael Corinthos yet. “There are no plans to recast his role at this time, but you never know in daytime. I can promise a great story for Michael and his family when Chad exits in the new year,” he stated in the X post. Thus, it may be a while since we see Michael back on screen. Whether or not the producers change their mind and if Robert Adamson will end up taking over the role, remains to be seen.
