Sony Pictures has revealed the Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel trailer release date for the long-awaited first look at the upcoming movie.
On Twitter, Sony made a post with a short video of the Ghostbusters logo seemingly frosting over. The tweet’s caption states, “No turning back. Teaser trailer tomorrow. #Ghostbusters.” As such, fans can expect the first Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel teaser trailer tomorrow on Wednesday, November 8.

Currently under the working title “Firehouse,” the upcoming Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel marks the fifth theatrically released movie in the Ghostbusters franchise following 1984’s Ghostbusters, 1989’s Ghostbusters II, 2016’s Ghostbusters (which is a reboot with a separate continuity), and 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
Who is directing the Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel?
The film is being directed by Gil Kenan from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jason Reitman. The next chapter in the Spengler family story will also feature the return of the main cast, including Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, and Mckenna Grace, who was the first cast member to confirm her return.
The 2021 film earned a worldwide gross of more than $200 million at the box office. It starred Carrie Coon, Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, and Paul Rudd. It also featured the return of franchise stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts.
